Our Purpose
Still Waters is a temporary home for displaced women and their children. We provide a safe place, with faith-based principles, to facilitate transition back into the community. We seek to be a reflection of God for one another.
We are more than a shelter, we are a program meant to encourage and guide women throughout vulnerable transitions. No staff lives with the residents as they live independently with staff and mentors that disciple and refer to resources needed. Our goal is that each woman leave with an affordable place to live, an income to support her and an understanding of God’s love.
Our program provides a 12 bed home of which the residents maintain up-keep with daily chores. Residents attend daily devotionals and weekly bible studies. Our program extends beyond living in the home as we have a strong volunteers serving in outreach and aftercare of all our residents.
The Refinery is a social enterprise of Still Waters. Soy candles are made and sold to wholesale and retail accounts with proceeds returning to support the mission. Women are required to work 8 hours a week at The Refinery while living at Still Waters unless otherwise working. This production work helps assist in the residents needs as well as provide employment to residents and former residents.
